Friday night. Scantily-clad, juiced-up young women are hitting the town... Hard. In a nightclub bathroom we meet a group of girls who, beginning the night as strangers, become linked by their synchronised “pee” cycles.
The interactions between these boozed, bold and brazen females are often humorous and all too familiar. Yet we wonder about their risk taking and the unforeseen consequences of this “harmless” night out…
Centred in the heart of Northbridge and featuring performers from around Australia, this dance theatre work aims to challenge and entertain as it examines today’s binge drinking “ladette” culture.
Occupied has been in development since 2010, presenting excerpts in STRUT’s Short Cuts and at Midland Junction Arts Centre. Summer Nights is proud to present the complete full length work for the very first time during FRINGE WORLD 2012.
