"As a visitor to Perth who likes to see live theatre, this was a terrific show in a great venue. The versatility and impact of the acting and its closeness was most appreciated."

"Loved the show, I always enjoy the performances at The Blue Room. Artsy atmosphere, but not pretentious, cutting edge performances. Never boring"

Making use of the colourful aesthetics of Chinese Opera, Kiss of the Spider Woman is a piece of visual theatre that uncompromisingly explores that boundaries of desire and power.

Manuel Puig's play has been given a contemporary interpretation. Relocated to an Asian prison, the play tells the story of Molina, a gay prisoner, who weaves a delicate web of fantasy to relieve the brutal reality of prison life. His cellmate Valentin, a political prisoner, becomes entangled in this sensual story. Despite their vast social and political differences, what finally emerges are the ulterior motives of the human heart and the ability of relationships to transform and be transformed by differences.

Molina: You can see there's something special about her, that she's not any ordinary woman.
Valentin: This habit of yours, only thinking about the nice things as you call it, that has its own dangers.

WARNING: This play contains confrontational scenes.
