"As a visitor to Perth who likes to see live theatre, this was a terrific show in a great venue. The versatility and impact of the acting and its closeness was most appreciated."
Zen's Red Mouth audience member, July 2007

"Loved the show, I always enjoy the performances at The Blue Room. Artsy atmosphere, but not pretentious, cutting edge performances. Never boring"
Fragmented audience member, Feb 2007

God, the Devil and the True History of Mankind by Travis Cotton
Shakespearialism by Joshua Lawson

Two short plays by two award-winning young playwrights.

"If it's long-winded tales of fairies and magic and ghosts and mistaken identities you desire, then see a play by William Shakespeare. But if you want to see theatre stripped to its foundations, a raw, bold, new theatre, then see a play by me…"

God has sex appeal and isn't ashamed to use it. Shakespeare has a lesser-known, cynical brother determined to upstage his sibling. Santa dies a tragic death and in desperate need of a drink, offers to go to hell - where Jesus, complete with a substance abuse problem, spends most of his time.

Winners of the Write Now national young playwrights competition, God, the Devil and the True History of Mankind and Shakespearialism provide unashamed and satirical challenges to the most ingrained of society's conservative concepts.
