As part of The Blue Room Theatre's commitment to providing professional development opportunities to our members and, in particular, programming high quality workshops led by internationally renowned professionals, we're offering you an exclusive opportunity to take part in master classes led by Sarah Thom from the cast of GOB SQUAD’S Super Night Shot and Eddie Kay from the cast of FRANTIC ASSEMBLY and National Theatre of Scotland’s Beautiful Burnout. Both highly acclaimed productions will feature in the 2012 Perth International Arts Festival.
With generous support from the Perth International Arts Festival Vital Stages program, and financially assisted by The Besen Family Foundation, we are able to offer these at NO COST to you. However, participants are required to purchase a ticket to the show relevant to each workshop at the discounted price of $25 in order to aid workshop development.
WORKING COLLABORATIVELY with Sarah Thom (GOB SQUA
D)
Tuesday 7 February 2012, 1-5pm at The Blue Room Theatre
Drawing from each member of their collective, Gob Squad collaborate on the concept, direction and performance of a work. Workshop participants will explore new techniques in a series of exercises that will assist your process of creating and performing collaboratively.
Gob Squad constantly redefine their forms of expression, varying project by project from stage performance, video work, interactive live film to urban intervention. The partly improvised works centre around the randomness of real-time encounters between performers and audience. In Super Night Shot, Gob Squad take their video cameras to the streets of Northbridge exactly one hour before the show starts, making every performance as totally unique as the city in which it is filmed and the people who inhabit it. Click here to read more about Gob Squad or visit www.gobsquad.com
Workshop participants see Super Night Shot by Gob Squad 8:30pm Saturday 11 February
(Please note the workshop is taking place before the performance season.)
