The Trouble With Don is a nail-biting, no-holds barred tour through the hilarious corners and darkest caverns of Don Smith's mind.
"It's like when you're watching a horror movie, and the innocent person looks at the big, ugly door, and you go 'Noooo! Don't go through the door!' But they do. Every time! That's my life, basically."
Based on the real life stories of this seasoned actor, stand-up comic and clown, The Trouble With Don pushes the boundaries of drama and decency, starting in the late sixties when Don was sent to a private school that was more like a military academy, and the bumpy ride that follows.
And Don Smith has been in a lot of trouble. He's been arrested, punched, jailed, half-drowned and forced to live in Girrawheen.
Not that he's complaining. Somehow, amidst all the trouble, he's managed to forge a successful career and is jumping at the chance to tell his stories, to tell the truth, to go places where stand-up can't and to expose the truth about being a man…a drunken man…a drunken white man in this wide brown land.
